Green Turtle Cay is very special to us! Jim’s grandmother, Lillian Lowe, is from Green Turtle Cay. He has wonderful memories of stories told by “Grandma” and “Aunt Alice” (Lillian’s sister) about this wonderful little island in the Bahamas. You will see family pictures on the wall in the upstairs Master Bedroom, including those of Jim’s great-grandfather, Basil Lowe. Jim still has many relatives that call Green Turtle Cay home. Those relatives and ancestors have played a significant role in the development and prosperity on the island and Abaco. If you stop into a grocery store or take a ferry ride, it will be owned and operated by a relative.
Jim had always dreamed of getting back to his roots. Bev has always had a picture of a little pink house on an island overlooking the water hanging on her wall. Her dream was to one day have a place just like the picture. Jim and Bev’s dreams aligned and finally came to fruition. It is proof that fairy tales and dreams do come true!
We purchased this home at the end of September 2017 and immediately began it’s transformation! Many hours of research sourcing the right pieces to place in the home, months of logistics, and hours of hard work by many locals, culminated to the official opening of Lillian’s Bungalows in April 2018. The house is named after Jim’s grandmother, Lillian, and Bev’s grandfather Brinson or “LB” to his friends. These two significant loved ones were 100% instrumental in the purchase, the place, and the dream come true for us!

We have even made our own special memories on this beautiful island, just steps away from Lillian’s Bungalows! Head over to the beach at the end of the street, walk down the stairs, and just a few yards to the right is where we said our vows to each other amongst family and friends. It was a magical day in paradise! In fact, from the balcony you can see that special place on the beach where our dreams began the journey to reality.
We are native Floridians enjoying the sunshine and all life has to offer! We both work full time in the construction industry and have for many years. We have 3 wonderful children and 4 grandchildren, all presently living out of state. We enjoy gathering with friends for an evening of cooking and good conversations.
We hope you enjoy the home and make memories of your own you will cherish for a lifetime.
